2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,600 times in 2011. If it were a cable car, it would take about 27 trips to carry that many people.

What is God?

Ok, ladies and gentlemen.  I noticed one of my friends referenced God on multiple occasion as “She” instead of “Him”.  I didn’t think much of it besides that it deviates from the norm, but then he and I, our thoughts, and what we say particularly tend to be radical.  I wonder if it is natural or forcefully rebellion, or if it is rebellion at all.  Lets get to the point of this post to save you from my ramblings.  Just another day in the life of me. :)

What is God? What is Allah? What is Krishna? What is any deity you worship?  Does he, or she, have a physical form?  If so, why do religions represent these celestial beings in that manner?  Why do followers of a any religion who have depicted their deity in a physical form cater their deity to a particular sex, particularly male?

These are my deductions and conjectures in an attempt to answer those questions.  I believe in a higher power.  As Christians would put it “The Alpha, The Omega”, “The Beginning and The End.”  How “he” came to be is something I believe will never understand.  What is his physical characteristics?  I do not limit his form by physical constraints in fear that I will do him injustice.  The Alpha is everything…and nothing, and therefore, I don’t think he can be represented correctly.  If the universe is so vast, why would he select a single entity existing in this vast realm as his physical form, when there is probably an uncountable set of forms he can choose from.  It is known to Christians that Jesus is the son of God, and is also the representation of God on Earth.  I will not delve into that subject any further and how I feel about it.  I’ll just simply state that when I think about the Alpha and Jesus, I do not think of a Caucasian man.  I can not picture or envision neither of them because what they represent should not be limited to characteristics of “mankind”.

Now, why are celestial beings usually represented as males? Hmm, I’m not theologian or a history professor, but i’m pretty sure men really know how to exercise their power and influence society’s thoughts.  I think for a pretty long time now too.  I wonder if it has anything to do with “its a man’s world”?  To some degree, it is =/ .

This is just how I view things.  Even re-reading this, I see a couple holes in my point of view, nevertheless that is my belief.  After all religion is a constructed set of beliefs that cannot be proven true.  That is why I believe everyone has their own religion because even followers of the same religion do not agree on every single topic in their own religion.

So What is God?  Anything You Want Her To Be.

The Beginning of a 2005 Story: Laboux and Allura

Ok, ladies and gents.  I was perusing through my very old flash(jump) drive from 2005!  I was in search of a document, but I stumbled upon the beginning of a story line that I really wanted to share with the world.  Reading it now,  I suck as a writer. lol. But, hey, at least I can see where my mind was at back then.  Just another day in the life of me. :)

As their lips connect, Allura heard a faint sound, a sound that resembled a voice.  Allura, with a be-deviled look, paused.  Laboux, looking puzzled, asked her “what’s wrong?”  As the seconds roll by the voice became clearer and clearer, …it sounded like the man she was kissing, it sounded like Laboux.  “Allura!  Allura!,” it said.  “Allura, Allura, please don’t go,” the Laboux-like voice said repeatedly.  She then felt a sudden overwhelming pain to her head.  Then she felt it again, and again, and again.  She closes her eyes, madly yells, and grip her head from the sides.  Allura continued to feel this unfathomable amount of pain, as if an entity was causing a series of blows to her head.  She could not bear the pain, so it caused her to fall into the arms of Laboux.  He circumspectly raised her head with one hand, and raised Allura’s body with the other.  Laboux quickly notice a wet sensation in the palms of his hand.  An impulsive beat in his heart caused his body to turn stiff, while making him hesitant to raise his hand and look at the substance.

After a minute of stirring up enough courage to face the fear of looking at what he expected to be, he slowly raised his hand.  Laboux saw the scarlet-like liquid he thought it to be, he saw blood.  He became scared for he started to believe that she was starting to slip away from this world, and moving on to the next.  Laboux did not want Allura to die nor want her to do it without him because he had a love for her so great that matched God’s power. Laboux thought to himself useless, for he could only stand there and watch, watch and witness her slipping every second that passed.  He yells “Allura, what’s wrong, what is happening?”  At the same time, she was still being haunted by the voices that sounded like her lover.  Annoyed, and overwhelmed with pain, Allura SCREAMED, and SCREAMED!  While grabbing her arms, Laboux yells out “get a hold of yourself, calm down!”  To Allura it sounded similar to an echo for both were saying the exact same thing like two entities in a narrow hall yelling and mimicking the other.  She could not take it anymore, she wanted to get away from Laboux and the Laboux-like entity, so Allura pushed off him suddenly, at the same time making Laboux even more confused.  When she does, she trips and falls back.  As Allura falls back, it does not feel to her like how fallin should feel like, but rather laying stationary on her back.  The world that she currently thought existed slowly evaporated before her eyes, like reassured eyes realizing that what is being seen in the desert is nothing but a mirage.  The pain is still there, but feels faint.  Allura begins to open her eyes at a snail’s pace, and then layed there awestruck because of what she was seeing.  Everything was pitch black, everything …..was fading into the black.

Foreign Languages, a Taste of Sin

Ok, ladies and gents.  You know me, or …not, but I’m currently in the right mindset to write a blog post when I have loads of work to do.  So, lets start.

I’m currently watching individual videos of my friends that they sent me 2 years ago.  Creepy? Maybe.  They are all talking in a unique foreign language, and I used it for a competition… 2 years ago.  Creepy?  So the reason I am watching them now cuz of 2 reasons, I miss them and I SERIOUSLY love the sound of foreign languages.  It really feels like …”eargosmic” (can i even say that word ? lol) but seriously, it feels so good that I begin questioning if its a sinful pleasure, especially in my current changed perspective . So my friend from France sent an extra video with her saying my Nigerian name in a French accent.  That shit… yo… it feels f’n good.  I’m not joking.  Thats why I’m determined to practice my Japanese in a *Japanese* setting.  I think everyone should learn at least two languages.  There are over 6500 thousand languages.  That’s 6500 thousand beautiful auditory delights.  But that’s all up to you …”But girl I can’t feel my face” …Frank Ocean. …”But can you taste a little taste of …”

Tied in a Single Garment of Destiny

Ok, ladies and gents.  Saw a picture that really got me thinking about Destiny again.  Just another day in the life of me. :)

I read this quote:

We Are Caught In An Inescapable Network of Mutuality, Tied in a Single Garment of Destiny. Whatever Affects One Directly, Affects All Indirectly. –  Martin Luther King Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963

I agree with that last quote to a certain extent.  I believe Every Event has a Ripple Effect that Affects the Rest of the Universe.  What I don’t agree with is that we are all “Tied in a Single Garment of Destiny.”  Lets say there exists a set that consists of infinite unique parallel universes. Each universe is governed by “Destiny.”  Although the universes are unique, each corresponding existing entity across universes are still the same entity, regardless of cosmetics and/or varying individual thoughts.  Now, establishing those assumptions, we can infer that each universe is unique as a result of Action and Events occurring, both with subsequent rippling effects.  But if Destiny dictates the path for any entity’s span of existence, there should be a duplication of consecutive occurrences for a particulary entity from start to end in a number of parallel universes.  That contradicts our assumption that each universe is unique since entity’s across universes share the same fate.

A counter argument can be thrown that each entity in their respective universe shares a different Destiny.  If that is the case, then TWO things can be deduced from that: 1. Destiny Decides Your Fate; 2. You Have Absolutely Lost Control of Your Life, …so when did that happen? o_0

Hand of Hope

Ok, ladies and gents.  I was skimming the web earlier today, and I found this post.  Besides the emotionally aspect of this miracle, this story is just plain interesting because of the procedure that was performed.   Either way, God Given Gifted Hands, and a returned Hand of Hope.  Just another day in the life of me. :)

Hand of Hope

Miracles that Begets Miracles.

“A picture began circulating in November. It should be “The Picture of the Year,” or perhaps, “Picture of the Decade.” It won’t be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother’s womb. Little Samuel’s mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner’s remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon’s finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, “Hand of Hope.” The text explaining the picture begins, “The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother’s uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.”

Little Samuel’s mother said they “wept for days” when they saw the picture. She said, “The photo reminds us pregnancy isn’t about disability or an illness, it’s about a little person” Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome…incredible….and hey, pass it on! The world needs to see this one!” – unknown

MacPhail Family Imprisoned?

Ok, ladies and gents.  Just a few thoughts of mine.  Just another day in the life of me. (no smiley face).

I can understand the desire to take the life of the person who “murdered” your loved one… the anger, the pain, the pure sinful lust for someone… anyone to be punished.  Their Emotions probably blinded them.  No true Satisfaction is obtained, and if it is, then it is ephemeral.  That pain and sorrow you feel will still be there. So who has been set free?  Troy Davis.
